First HIP Home at 4300 Gray St is under contract!

Wheat Ridge 2020 is pleased to announce that the Home Investment Program Home at 4300 Gray St is under contract.  There were several interested buyers and we have accepted an offer for our full asking price of $225,000.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the open house and complimented the renovations.  You can read coverage of the open house from the Wheat Ridge Transcript. Special thanks to Eric Stevens, owner of the local Value-builders franchise, who did great work on the improvements.  Stay tuned to the website for the dazzling after pictures courtesy of Dressel-Martin MediaWorks.

Wadsworth Sub Area Plan to be heard at Council on March 26th

At the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 26th, 7-10pm, the agenda includes a discussion about the Wadsworth Sub Area Plan.  Wheat Ridge 2020 is supporting the plan to go to its next phase of development.  Please take a look at the attached letter and talk with or write to your city council representatives about this plan.  The planning commission voted not to recommend the plan on a 4-3 vote.  As Council is the policy-making body, they are our audience in advocating for planning for our future.  This vote would simply let the plan go to the next stage of study.

You can review the study at the City of Wheat Ridge website.
Please consider taking action and call your City Council members today. View contact info by clicking on each district.

RTD announces next step of the EIS

Wheat Ridge 2020 is tracking the progress on the RTD FasTracks Gold Line.
The RTD FasTracks Gold Line project team announced that, from the four alternatives just evaluated, it has removed two of the alternatives from further consideration for the Gold Line Environmental Impact Study (EIS). The two alternatives removed are the Light Rail Alternatives on 38th Ave. to Harlan and on 38th Ave. to Sheridan.
The two alternatives that remain include the electric trains on the railroad alignment and the modern streetcar on the 38th and Harlan alignment. These alternatives will undergo further refinement and evaluation in the next phase of analysis.

To review these alternatives, please visit the RTD FasTracks site.
